On Wednesday August 8, Bestman Games Limited will take financial education to the National Youth Service Corp Orientation Camp at Iyana Ipaja in Lagos State – as part of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Program. (SEAD)
Sadly, financial education is not in the national school curriculum, so children go through school, on to higher education and into the work force with little or no financial knowledge. It Is therefore important for us to empower our youth by equipping them with critical life skills in money management. This financial literacy program is being hosted in partnership with Leadway Assurance Limited and is aimed at equipping our young graduates with skills crucial for leading a financially responsible life as they prepare for the world of work.
The young graduates will be introduced to the basic tenets of money management from saving, investing, borrowing, insurance, taxation, entrepreneurship
“We are delighted to be part of the outstanding SAED programme and hope that the Youth Corpers take full advantage of it. With the level of unemployment that we are grappling with, the skills that they will learn will equip them and prepare them to be self-employed and indeed to create jobs for others.
Financial education is vitally important to help our youth avoid the common financial pitfalls that so many adults face. “We also look forward to hosting a mini Monopoly Tournament with attractive prizes for winners. Board games and other experiential activities are excellent ways to teach important money skills as they engage, empower and educate” says Nimi Akinkugbe, CEO of Bestman Games.
This is part of Bestman Games’ Not For Profit Initiative to give the gift of financial literacy to our youth.
